Windows 8.1: the final version available for download

After months of waiting and various prerelease and RTM, the final version of Windows 8.1 was just released. The operating system is now available for existing users of Windows 8.0 in the form of a very large update to download.
To prevent all users, a message appears on the screen, inviting them to visit the Windows Store to get the full update. The update applies to the version for desktops and laptops (Windows 32 and 64 bit), but also for tablets running Windows RT. And even those who have a RTM version of Windows 8.1 are concerned, since update 241.3 MB (64-bit) is waiting on Windows Update.
Summary of previously discussed new features of Windows 8.1:
  • reintroduction of the Start button . Although very popular with users of older versions of Windows, its use differs. Left-click leads to the Home screen, and right-click to access the Control Panel, the Task Manager, the command prompt, etc..
  • ability to boot to the desktop (like Windows 7.0 and earlier versions) or on the Home screen (like Windows 8.0);
  • Total customization of the Home screen and access the list of installed at the bottom of the screen in question applications;
  • new Modern UI applications : health and fitness, alarm, calculator, etc..
  • new search module ;
  • Settings module PC much more comprehensive
  • full integration of SkyDrive and Office Explorer
Finally, the last point: the price. If you want to migrate from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 , it will cost you $163.82. If you opt for the Pro version of Windows 8.1, it will cost you $382.43. Remember also that the sites Amazon and Darty always offer to migrate from Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro for less than $60 ... and as the update to Windows 8.1, it would be a shame not to take advantage of this method, which drastically reduces the bill.

Toyota car with autopilot available in 2015

Toyota autopilot car

The world's largest automaker, Toyota , announced Friday that it will sell around 2015 vehicles able to go into " automatic driving "respecting the safety distances and staying in the right path.
"These advanced technologies help prevent human error, reduce the stress of driving and help drivers avoid accidents, which should help lower the number of deaths on the roads," said Moritaka Yoshida, a Toyota responsible for presenting a demonstration for journalists.
Toyota works on automatic control techniques for twenty years and looks well as other manufacturers and companies in the sector of new technologies like Google , to facilitate the work of drivers to enhance their security.
Its automatic aid highway driving (Automated Highway Driving Assist or ahda) system and establishes a wireless communication from the vehicle to change its speed to maintain a safe distance . It also uses the cameras and radar , among other facilities. All managed by an operating system to keep the vehicle in its lane - the road is straight or curvy.
"The cars equipped with this technology detects acceleration and brake blows those which precede, which makes the flow of traffic," said a charge of the project, Mitsuhisa Shida. "The cars share the information every tenth of a second."
Through another system introduced by the manufacturer, the vehicle can detect a pedestrian or an animal on the road, and immediately stop and change course to avoid it. The system can detect the obstacle four seconds before the potential impact, Toyota said.
The manufacturer has also developed a system of automatic garage : the driver stopped his vehicle near a place, and then presses a button and the car ranks alone.
Toyota believes that these techniques will also help promote driving for seniors , more and more people want to get behind the wheel of the aging of the population and society encouraging mobility.
Compatriot and rival Toyota, Nissan, presented last week similar techniques at a electronics show in the suburbs of Tokyo.

The new bracelet is called Fitbit Force

The competition continues to shake around bracelets connected. The happy owners of Flex toFitbit may soon get a major change to their wrists. The manufacturer is about to launch a new version, including visuals were unearthed by the U.S. site The Verge . The new bracelet evolves enough to change your name: call the "Force" . Given the purpose of the accessory, admit that the name is well chosen. Replacing Flex that we tested this was so, the Force seems to have been designed from the various criticisms leveled at the first attempt Fitbit in the matter. Thus, over the five small LEDs to know the progress of the user in its business objectives. Fitbit implants a small screen along with a button to navigate through the menus. Users no longer have to constantly take a look at their phones for the details of their business.
The screen allows you to introduce another fairly basic function, but actually useful, the FuelBand Nike has long been: the time display. This is a detail, but that will delight those who never wear a watch. The last big innovation is the integration of an altimeter to measure such as the number of floors that we climbed daily. course, all these innovations have a price. The Fitbit Force should be sold about $ 30 more expensive than its predecessor, or about $ 130. Availability is still not known by cons, it will therefore expect an ad on the side of the manufacturer.
